Qiagen releases portable SARS-CoV-2 antigen test

November 12, 2020 -- Qiagen has launched a portable, digital SARS-CoV-2 antigen test that can analyze more than 30 swab samples per hour. The company developed the QIAreach SARS-CoV-2 antigen test in collaboration with the Australian firm Ellume.

The test processes samples in two to 15 minutes. Qiagen is marketing and distributing it in the U.S. and has applied to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization. It has also applied for the CE-IVD Mark for the European Union.
