Castle Biosciences has received a clinical laboratory permit from the New York State Department of Health for its Pittsburgh laboratory. The permit will allow Castle to perform tests for patients and physicians in New York at the facility in addition to its Phoenix headquarters, which received its permit in 2018.

Both laboratories are CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited. While the original Pittsburgh laboratory was part of Castle’s acquisition of Cernostics in 2021, the firm moved to a new 20,000-sq-ft laboratory space earlier this year, doubling the size of its Pittsburgh operations. The firm now has a total of more than 52,000 sq ft across its Pittsburgh and Phoenix facilities.Castle’s portfolio includes assays for melanoma, Barrett’s esophagus, and mental health conditions.
