Natera highlights Signatera data at AACR
One study focuses on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) prognosis in adjuvant triple-negative breast cancer. Researchers found that 19.9% of patients with early-stage disease were found to have detectable ctDNA after surgery (which was strongly associated with poorer outcomes), and that lead time between first ctDNA positivity and recurrence on imaging was a median of six months.

Accounting for genetic factors may improve PSA testing
Presenter Linda Kachuri, PhD, of the University of California, San Francisco, and colleagues investigated whether particular genetic factors could cause variations in PSA levels that are not due to cancer, and whether accounting for these could improve PSA testing. They conducted a study that included 95,000 men with diagnosed prostate cancer from cohorts in the U.S., the U.K., and Sweden and identified 128 PSA-associated variants they used to "build a polygenic score for PSA levels."

AI spots patients at elevated risk for pancreatic cancer
A team of researchers from the U.S. and Denmark used electronic health record (EHR) data from the Danish National Patient Registry to train their algorithm and then tested it on electronic medical records from Mass General Brigham Health Care System in Boston. Their model proved to be highly accurate for predicting patients at high risk for pancreatic cancer on large datasets from both countries.
