Loop Genomics has introduced a long-read sample prep polymerase chain reaction (PCR) kit for use with sequencers made by Illumina across various applications, including noninvasive prenatal testing and immune system evaluation.

The amplicon sequencing kit can be used with PCR fragments up to 3 kb, according to the company.
San Jose, CA-based Loop also has a service center that can handle PCR fragments up to 6 kb.
In another announcement this month, the company introduced a long-read 16S microbiome sequencing service for large study cohorts; the charge is $20 to $38 per sample, with cost depending on the volume.
