Accelerate Diagnostics has launched Accelerate Arc, a rapid microbial identification system for positive blood cultures (BCs).
The kit consists of the company's Arc Module and BC Kit and allows for direct transfer of cleaned microbial cells to a matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) spotting plate, the company said. It eliminates the need for batching multiple specimen tests, and it only needs two to three minutes of hands-on time to run, according to Accelerate.
