Diagnostics developer BrainBox Solutions has been awarded a $3.5 million Small Business Innovation Research grant from the U.S. National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
The company will use the funding to develop a test system for mild traumatic brain injury in elderly patients. In addition, it will collaborate with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, VA, on a trial called the HeadSmart Geriatrics Study. The test will integrate blood biomarkers and functional tests.
