Molecular diagnostics firm Co-Diagnostics has opened a new manufacturing facility in South Salt Lake, UT, holding a ribbon-cutting event to inaugurate the facility on April 11.

The facility was designed to manufacture the company's Co-Dx Pro instrument and test cups for the new Co-Dx polymerase chain reaction (PCR) platform, as well as the patented Co-Primers chemistry that underpins the firm's PCR diagnostic tests.

In a statement, Co-Diagnostics said that the Co-Dx PCR platform, which includes the PCR Home, PCR Pro, mobile app, and associated tests, is currently under review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is not yet available for sale. The platform is designed to provide results for COVID-19, influenza, RSV, tuberculosis, and HPV testing in approximately 30 minutes.

The firm noted that its Co-Dx COVID-19 Test is also currently under review by the FDA.
