Lab Cell Scientist

Single-cell analysis systems and picodroplet technology developer Sphere Fluidics on Tuesday announced that it has opened new laboratory facilities in Granta Park, Cambridgeshire, U.K., to enable it to expand and develop new products.

By doubling overall capacity, the facilities will accommodate Sphere Fluidics’ recent hires and preparation for further recruitment by the end of the year, the firm said.

The first phase of building has opened 7,000 square feet of space and includes a demonstration lab that enables customers to see Sphere’s single-cell analysis and monoclonality assurance systems, the company also said.

Sphere expects that the second phase will expand the company’s footprint to 30,000 square feet and will be completed by the end of 2023.

The new facilities are an addition to its offices at Babraham Research Campus.
