22-year-old woman with gestational diabetes
History and images
Our appreciation is extended to Dr. Abdul Abid, University of Texas Medical Branch, for contributing this case.
History: A 22-year-old woman with gestational diabetes presented at 34 weeks gestation and delivered a healthy baby boy. The placenta was sent for a pathology exam. A gross exam revealed a singleton placenta (750 g) with a homogenous, well-circumscribed, yellow nodule at the periphery. Gross images are provided.
