OptraScan has received a U.S. patent for technology on its OS-SiA digital pathology scanner, which is able to scan, index, and analyze pathological samples simultaneously.
U.S. Patent No. 2020/0334814 A1 details technology that identifies pathology specimens to scan and then simultaneously analyzes the tissue or cell area being scanned, according to the company. OptraScan's artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital pathology scanner enables end users to view the scanned whole-side image along with analyzed output as an overlay during the review process, the firm said.
