Leica Biosystems announced that its Aperio GT 450 DX scanner now supports DICOM imaging. The scanner produces DICOM whole-slide images natively and is compatible with PACS networks.
The DICOM imaging module is now available for customers in selected countries, according to Leica.
The company has been working with Leeds Teaching Hospital National Health Service (NHS) in the U.K. as part of the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative program for the DICOM implementation.
