NeuMoDx and Sentinel partner on PCR assays

NeuMoDx Molecular and Sentinel Diagnostics are developing multiple new real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays for use on the NeuMoDx 96 and 288 models of molecular systems through a new collaboration.

New molecular diagnostics will be developed in a range of areas, including for use in post-transplant infections, parasitic and hospital-acquired infections, and respiratory infections. The collaborative work will incorporate Sentinel's Stat-NAT technology, which the companies said was designed to stabilize the activity of the PCR mix to boost shelf life, among other advantages.

GNA Biosolutions secures $13.5M in new funding round

GNA said it plans to use the funds to advance the development of its point-of-care molecular diagnostic platform as well as help bring it to the clinic -- first in the European Union and then in the U.S. market.
