Roche has released a dual antigen and antibody diagnostic test for hepatitis C in countries that accept the CE Mark.
Elecsys HCV Duo uses plasma or blood samples and allows for earlier diagnosis of active hepatitis C infection -- which in turn improves patient care by helping sufferers of the disease get earlier treatment, according to the firm.
The test can also be used as a screening test to protect recipients of blood, blood components, cells, tissue, and organs from exposure to the virus, Roche said.
