MilliporeSigma has broken ground on a new production facility for its Hi-Flow Plus lateral flow membrane technology used in rapid COVID-19 tests.

Made possible by a $136.7 million award from the U.S. Department of Defense on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the new facility in Sheboygan, WI, will be MilliporeSigma's first site in the U.S. that's capable of producing diagnostic-grade membrane, according to the company.
