South Korean firm Seegene has secured Health Canada approval for its Allplex 2019-nCoV assay, a real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test for SARS-CoV-2.
As of April 9, Canada has more than 20,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 509 deaths, according to Seegene. The test is being used in more than 40 countries and the company is manufacturing and delivering more than 3 million tests per week around the world, Seegene said.
