Eurofins Technologies has launched a multiplex reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay that can detect the omicron variant of COVID-19.
Called GSD NovaType Detect + Select K417N SARS-CoV-2, the assay is designed for simultaneous qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 genomic RNA and identification of the spike mutation K417N in one reaction. The company said results can be obtained within one hour.
Eurofins also recently debuted tests for the simultaneous detection of SARS-CoV-2, influenza A/B, and respiratory syncytial virus.
