GenScript launches monkeypox PCR test

GenScript USA has launched a real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) monkeypox test for research lab use.

The kit, which was developed in partnership with Anbio Biotechnology, can be ordered now by diagnostic labs and medical device distributors to be used in research to detect the monkeypox virus.

The test is a qualitative assay that identifies the monkeypox virus from various sample types, including lesion swab samples, and amplifies two conserved gene regions of the virus.

The test kit has already received the CE Mark for IVD use in the European Union, GenScript said.
