New England Biolabs on Thursday announced the introduction of its wholly-owned subsidiary, New England Biolabs Lyophilization Sciences, which focuses on designing, developing, and manufacturing solutions for ambient stored products.
Biolabs noted that it acquired Fluorogenics in May 2021, allowing the firm to combine Fluorogenics’ knowledge of lyophilization with Biolab’s enzymology expertise to create a storage solution for its customers in molecular diagnostics.
The current manufacturing facility for New England Biolabs Lyophilization Sciences is located in Wiltshire, U.K.; plans to expand into a 30,000-square-foot facility in Oxford are scheduled to be completed at the end of 2023, Biolabs said.
Biolabs also plans to incorporate the subsidiary’s capabilities into its existing OEM and Customized Solutions business, the company added.
