Lab informatics company Scispot said Tuesday that it has added LabSQL, a programming tool for configuring lab informatics management systems (LIMS), to its Data Science Toolkit.
LabSQL was designed to be adaptable and user-friendly so that scientists and data engineers can easily build and update customized LIMS, the firm said.
The programming tool can be used to make connections between various samples, such as DNA, RNA, and peptide samples, experimental protocols, data, and metadata. This allows companies to automate workflows and data handling, maximizing the value of their data, Scispot said.
While most LIMS are hard-coded and offer limited options for customization, LabSQL was designed to enable users to create their own configurable systems. It offers a suite of apps, as well as a graphical user interface and command line interface.
