Roche Diagnostics will showcase technologies for lab automation, the serum work area, and molecular and point-of-care solutions at WorldLab-EuroMedLab 2023 in Rome from May 21 to May 25, the firm said on Wednesday.

Among the products and technologies on display, the firm's Navify portfolio of integrated digital solutions enables open digital ecosystems that connect to innovations, drive operational efficiencies, and generate actionable insights for improved patient care, Roche said.

It will feature polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based molecular systems including the Cobas 5800 and the LightCycler Pro, which it is launching later this year. And the company will unveil a prototype for the Cobas Mass Spec system, which aims to bring mass spectrometry to routine testing and complement the serum work area portfolio. In the future, Roche will have an extended diagnostic platform, offering clinical chemistry, heterogeneous immunoassays, and mass spectrometry.

"With the ever-changing needs of the healthcare system, laboratories and clinicians are expected to optimize laboratory operations and efficiencies while improving patient care," Ann Costello, head of Roche Diagnostics Solutions, said in a statement. Next generation technologies presented at the event “simplify and streamline testing for laboratories of all sizes, throughputs and disciplines, while supporting clinical decision-making to improve patient care," Costello added.
