Charlotte, NC-based Lighthouse Lab Services has acquired Pathology Lab Solutions (PLS) for an undisclosed amount.
PLS is a consulting and equipment company that primarily services physician practices with a focus on gastrointestinal conditions.
Founded in 2008, the company helps physician practices establish in-office pathology labs by advising them about lab design, set-up, and ongoing compliance.
Lighthouse said that the deal enables it to strengthen its position as a laboratory consulting firm by providing a new pathology-specific management offering. Specifically, the acquisition enables the company to better assist pathologists performing anatomic pathology, Lighthouse president and founder Jon Harol said in a statement.
